Here's the recap people...Dax and I drove down to Atlanta on Saturday morning at 2:00! We took our time and got there in the afternoon at about 4:00. I suppose we could have been there sooner, but we didn't feel like killing ourselves, and it was worth it to get there in a fashion that we didn't hate. We had Wrigley with us ... so that was an interesting dynamic when we needed to stop. The highlight of the trip was a stop to his old alma mater in East Tenn. State Univ. He hasn't been back since he graduated in '93... so that was fun for him. Fun for me too to know a part of his past.
We spent the next 5 days at my MIL and her new house. It was a beautiful 4 bedroom house in Newnan, GA ... that she got for a song. I am really glad for her. We spent our time with Dax's sister's new baby, getting to know her boyfriend James, raking leaves, EATING, walking and playing with Wrigley (he was soooo in his element there... tons of space to run and not having to be on a leash most of the time... he loved it). We played hard and slept hard. I babysat one afternoon and that was cool to bond with the baby and to let them have an afternoon to shop. So, overall it was a good trip.
We came back yesterday and stopped at the outlets and I picked up a couple of things (an awesome coat and 2 sweaters) at the JCrew outlet. That was cool to get some really good deals, and it was all cash from the MIL... she really rocks like that!!! Dax worked on his sermon (he is giving it tomorrow) and I drove most of the time.
I feel really rested and full of energy. I still had to do work while I was there... but it wasn't that big of a deal. I just went to Starbucks everyday. It actually was good to get out of the house... as there were times that it was too much to be around the MIL.
Today was nice. Wrigley and I spent a lot of time walking. We walked to deliver the rent, do some shopping at CVS, and to the park. He is in a good place after playing so much and so hard in Atlanta.
Dax and I ran down to see President Ford's motorcade just a little too late tonight. We were going to go to the viewing, but the line was a little too long, and they hadn't even opened the doors to the public yet. We needed to get back at a decent hour so that he will be fresh for tomorrow. He is still revising his sermon... so it was good that we didn't wait it out. It was cool to see all that our country goes through to honor our presidents. They really do their best to honor them. I like that about the US.
In other news, my brothers wife had her baby today. Benjamin Raymond came into the world at a whopping 10 lbs, 2 oz. at about 10:30 this morning! I guess eveyone is doing well. I am glad for them, because when this whole thing started, my sister in law was making stupid decisions. So, I am glad nothing bad happened. My sister and I are going to drive up to Philly tomorrow... so that will be fun to see the little big guy.
